Artist’s Statement
“The artwork illustrates an abstract depiction of the unique beauty that human anatomy represents and was inspired by my experiences studying human anatomy in medical school. The art piece was painted using ink in the tone burnt sienna, to add dimension and emphasize contrast with color. The anatomy blends out into a series of roses to convey growth and healing. This painting embraces my perspective as an artist and as a medical student.”
About the Artist
Swetha Sriramoju grew up in Westchester, New York and currently resides in Hunterdon, New Jersey. Growing up, Swetha fostered her passion for art and continues to express herself through her artwork. She is currently a first-year medical student at Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine in New Jersey.
