Artist’s Statement
This original 20” x 16” acrylic painting on wood honors the tender bond between mothers and neonates, celebrating their resilience, survival, and the sacred connection forged through adversity. Inspired by the journey of a NICU baby coming home, the piece invites reflection on love, loss, and perseverance. As a neonatologist, I am committed to ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of location or circumstance. I have volunteered in countries such as Peru, Cambodia, and Uganda, served ten years in the US Air Force, and focused my research on improving neonatal outcomes. My work centers on neurodevelopment, AI, machine learning, and virtual reality to advance care and create a better future for families worldwide.
