Artist Statement
This artwork represents the relationship between depression, poor mental health, and the heart. It also raises the question of how many diseases can take root in the heart due to poor mental health, and how deeply depression and sadness can invade it, causing significant damage.
About the Artist
Mubashra Waseem, MBBS, a recent graduate of Karachi Medical and Dental College (Karachi Metropolitan University), is a self-taught traditional artist. He enjoys blending medicine with art, using creative expression to explore and communicate complex medical concepts in a visual and engaging way.
