Artist Statement
This is the artsy rendering and interpretation of the spine and sacroiliac joints in fluoroscopy, emphasizing the beauty of medicine and anatomy in a graceful color selection that is more approachable to eyes outside of medicine.
About the Artist
Leana Pande, DO, is a self-taught artist
in watercolor, acrylic paint, gouache, pen, and other media. She is a neurology resident in the Hudson Valley, New York. She is a published artist whose work has been displayed in hospitals, galleries, and discussed on WVIA National Public Radio. She received the 2022-2023 Artist in Residence Award from the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA)and serves as the resident co-chair of the AMWA Studio Art Committee.
